Billie The Kid, Vaudeville November 2023

BillieThe Kid second date billing.webp

Seventeen-year-old Billie Belle is a girl used to having the odds stacked against her. Born in a Bible Belt town to a delinquent mother, Billie spent her childhood saving discount-store coupons and working night shifts to keep the lights on in her grandma’s tiny trailer. Through it all, Billie has had one person by her side: her childhood sweetheart, Brody Benson. Brody’s a redneck with a heart of gold and they have spent years planning their future together, all pinned on Billie’s hopes for a full-ride scholarship to Charleston City College. But their plans are thrown into chaos when Billie discovers Brody has been trading dirty DMs with David Francis – the school queer punk rocker.

Torn between the pain of this betrayal and her love for her boyfriend, Billie reaches out to David and his gang of misfits. While Billie has put all her energy into thriving within the system, they’ve gone the other way, determined to be wild and joyful outsiders with no fear of offending! Inspired by and united with her new friends, Billie finds herself at the heart of a new kind of love story, one where her happily ever after is with herself in her fight for justice and equality; and the chance to ride out into the sunset on her terms.

Working With
Bobby Aitken.

From a studio in South Carolina, Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker revolutionised religion.

Preaching to millions 24 hours a day, Tammy just wants to put the fun back into faith.

But a new wave of ministers wants you not to just feel God in your heart, but in your homes, in your schools and in the law too.

Tammy Faye is a "divinely delirious glitz-bomb of a musical" (Financial Times) from legendary songwriter Elton John, Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears and award-winning writer James Graham (Ink, BBC’s Sherwood), featuring Olivier Award-winner Katie Brayben (Beautiful) as Tammy Faye and Tony Award-nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, Girls) as Jim.

Directed by Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold (Spring Awakening), this "spectacularly entertaining" (New York Times) true story, is a testament of faith, resilience and the temptations of success.

God bless Tammy Faye!

Some Like It Hip Hop, UK Tour and West End Run 2019

Some Like it Hip hop.jpg

Some Like It Hip Hop is a story of love, mistaken identity and revolution, in a city where books are banned, and where women are kept subservient to men.

The story revolves around two central female characters, Jo-Jo and Kerri.  When they are discovered breaking the rules of the city, they are thrown out.

They decide they have only one option – to return to the city dressed as men.  It doesn’t take long for the two women to prove their worth, and it also doesn’t take long for Jo-Jo to fall in love with Simeon, the only educated man in the city.

If only she wasn’t wearing a moustache…  It takes all their efforts to maintain their disguise, find love, and change the world.

Influenced by themes from the classic movie Some Like It Hot, the hit US TV series Mad Men, and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, a complicated comical tale of love, mistaken identity, gender stereo-types and revolution are played out in ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company’s trademark style of Hip Hop, comedy and physical theatre.
